„Monument valley (may contain artifacts)”
Solo show at Showcase gallerry, Tallinn 2018 Stained glass, wood, lacquer, cat fur, skin, thread, graphite and colored pencil on silk The exhibition at “Showcase gallery” placed on the wall of Estonian Contemporary Art Museum refers to the surroundings of the museum as a valley where historic architectural landmarks rest. The casing of the gallery is put together in stained glass which is often considered to be a practice of monumental art and associated with sacral architecture. Thus the debris like objects inside the casing, pendulum with pieces of skin, ball of cat hair, drawing of a landscape, become curiosities that together with the surroundings form a stroll between different scales, objects, materials and conditions. |
