"Unshatterable"
2017 Glass, lead "Pavilion" 2018 Wood, copper wire, feathers, lacquer. "Antennas" 2018 Graphite, colored pencil on silk The set of artworks are from an exhibition “One on one. On skills”, which dealt with the search of self-sufficient forms in applied arts and in contemporary arts. The exhibition brought together renowned applied artists of Estonia with contemporary artists whose works involve and value handcraft practices. The centerpiece of the works are my previous piece “Unshatterable” and a rug by Mall Tomberg titled “Bud” which together form a park like situation, the rug depicting a rupture from the ground and the glass screen reminding a pavilion. The turned objects with leaf like sprouts of wire and lacquer around them remind at one hand ruins on the other decorative follies. Photos: Anna Mari Liivrand and Alan Proosa |
